Grizelda deliver another brilliant piece of idiosyncratic Pagan Black Metal, rooted in militant spirit and knightly grandeur. "The Tallow Candle" is carved with similar production to its predecessor, with a cleaner sound than the demos but still deliberatly and aptly lo-fi, mastering a sound that is spacious giving way for an epic atmosphere seeping in mysticism and valor.

This time with real drums marking the beat of the marching sun, the guitars craft serpentine witchery, often with a solar positivity, here with an even more presence of Heavy Metal licks and squeaking pinch harmonics, often resembling with the wailing ways of Volahn. Through the dust and clatter of the battleground the voice remains mostly subdued under this storm of might and triumphalism, while the keyboards set up another layer of sacred ambiance."
